The International Exchange and Cooperation Office/Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan Affairs Office is a functional department and service organization responsible for implementing relevant national policies on foreign affairs at Hubei University of Economics, leading the school's international exchange and cooperation work. The main responsibilities include: drafting the development plan for international exchanges in the school; Coordinate school wide foreign affairs activities; Organize, plan and explore international cooperation projects, and be responsible for the approval of cooperative education; Provide information and communication services for teaching, scientific research, and international academic exchanges; Responsible for planning overseas visits and arranging reception for visitors; Responsible for inter school teacher and student communication; The recruitment, approval, foreign-related management, and life services of foreign experts and teachers; Approval of on campus international conferences; Approval of business trips abroad and processing of passports and visas for business trips abroad. The department is also responsible for Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan affairs, implementing national policies and guidelines on Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan work, and leading the school's cooperation and exchange work with the Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan regions. 

HBUE actively promote open and international education. It has signed cooperation agreements with more than 40 world renowned universities and educational institutes from more than 20 countries, including the U.S., the U.K., France, and Germany, and regions of China, namely Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and carried out substantive cooperation including exchange of faculty and students, collaborative scientific research, joint education, and student recommendation for master’s programs.
